Welcome to the wine bar
It is no coincidence that the ‘Rebstock’ stands directly at the foot of the Hofkirche.
In the Middle Ages, when the area around the courtyard was the seat of a stately monastery, there was a small house on the site of today's ‘Rebstock’. The monastery's winegrower lived here.
In 1443, the winegrowers built their guild hall here.
In 1560, it became the canons' drinking parlour, where it was precisely prescribed and measured when and how much they were allowed to drink.
So much for history and today....
...fortunately we are no longer so strict about measuring,
but all the more so with the selection of fine wines.
We try to bring you, dear guests, a cross-section of fine wines from Lucerne, the whole of Switzerland and Europe.
We keep big names small.
We like small wineries and favour them.
Many winemakers are known to us and are also friends of the house.
So it can also happen that the wine on the menu has been drunk.
We calculate fairly and are happy to continue cultivating the wine culture.
